Artist's Comments
This is a close-up of a set of roping cuffs I created for a good friend in Michigan. He told a story about when he was a young child, his father bought a dump truck from out west somewhere and drove it home. Behind the seat of the dump truck, he found a set of roping cuffs and cowboy boots.
He ended up trading the roping cuffs to a friend, but always regretted it. So I made him a set with Oregon Lace stampwork, and conchos out of 13 oz. saddle skirting (just to see if I could do it). Nowhere near practical, but lots of fun to do. Don't recommend 13 oz to work in such a rounded form for cuffs, but the cuffs themselves are surprisingly comfortable. Enjoy! |
