Artist's Comments

This one was a major PIA, but I think it turned out rather well. The basis of the image is a slightly modified Jinkie by Patslash and Christel-B. OK. Heavily modified. You see, Patslash laid Jinkie out like a mermaid, and I've been seeing a ton of these cute, little adorable Jinkies with big soft eyes and cuteness everywhere.

And don't get me wrong, I have nothing against cuteness. However, I think Jinkie is a pretty slick little composition and I figured, "why not make her into a bad, bad gnome." Sort of getting back at the Travelocity thing.

Anyway, when they say in the character description that Jinkie takes a lot to custom-fit clothes, they ain't kidding. I stretched my legs quite a bit on the d-formers, but this was a good exercise.

And then there came the base render, which was lovely. But it also pointed out that I needed a lot more detail and what not. So I found the wings. After all, if she's screwball enough to think she's a fighter, she might try dressing up as a faerie, right? Sure. Scare everyone that way. Why not? Then I added in the adornments of the jewelry, which almost killed me (kidding), but it did help the piece finish out.

As for customizing Jinkie a bit, I did take some liberties with her roundness. She needed a little more chutzpah to be weilding the big Black Lotus axes. The hair is a base V4 Glamour Hair, the outfit is AerySoul Elven Strapped for V4 and their Big Rock.

The stock involved in this is a paper piece I got from my online account at photos.com, The Signs of Reformation from CausticStock on D|A in the background, FeatherWings by Froggie Resources on D|A, and the jewelry is mostly based on the Jewelry brushes by SpiritSighs-Stock on D|A.

And there you have it. My apologies to P and C for not keeping Jinkie true to form, but she was a hoot and a half to play with!

I'm not going to be doing a print of this one ... unless someone really wants one. If you do, note me, and I'll see about submitting it.

Fullview highly recommended.

Well, you know what they say. Walk softly and carry a big-arsed axe! :D

She looks like she just jumped over that rock shouting aloud for enemies to come and get chopped... I do not thing she is the kind of 'Walk Softly'...
:iconartroland:
OK. But she DOES have a big stick. Two of them. With sharp implements on the outer edges. LOL. So she's a little Teddy roosevelt there. :D
